Installation

HELIS is developed in MATLAB and can be directly run in the MATLAB environment. Alternatively, HELIS can be run without MATLAB by using the installation package.

The following sections describe how to install HELIS in MATLAB and without MATLAB.

Run in MATLAB

If you already have a MATLAB environment, you can directly run the source code.

Download and unzip the source code from the Download page.

Run applications/helis_exported.m to start HELIS.

Run without MATLAB

Download and unzip the installation package from the Download page.

Follow the GUI instructions to download MATLAB Runtime and install HELIS on your system.

Step 1: Double-click the unzipped installation package. Click the Next button.

Step 2: Choose the installation folder for the HELIS software. Click the Next button.

If the required MATLAB Runtime has been installed, the following steps 3 and 4 will be skipped.

Step 3: Choose the installation folder for MATLAB Runtime. Click the Next button.

Step 4: Read the license agreement for MATLAB Runtime. Select the Yes option and click the Next button.

Step 5: Click the Install button to install HELIS and MATLAB Runtime. The MATLAB Runtime will be downloaded from the Internet, which may take some time.

After the installation is finished, you can open the folder [HELIS_install_folder_in_step2]\application\ and double-click helis.exe to start HELIS.
